It was during the Spa Arc, when Snails was getting his big makeover while skipping school. Cheerilee goes looking for him and eventually finds him with Rarity at the spa.

Incorrect. I think you mean “then the Tumblr ends and we all forget about it.” Because that’s more often what happens. Some kid plans to write a modern day Tristan and Isolde as told through ponies and then remembers, “Oh man, video games are fun,” and that’s it.

To you, yes, the hook-up is the sole point. To others such as myself, however, the drama really does have a point in and of itself. Thus far, the character development we’ve been given is that Snails is transgender and that he’s insecure. To me, the point of this “filler” is to further his character development, not to waste time. Think about it. You’re a young boy in your early teens (or earlier) in school; would you really just walk up to your crush and explain yourself? I don’t care how boss you think you are, no you wouldn’t; just no. It’s quite a lot more difficult than that, especially for someone so young and impressionable.
 
Just have patience. The tumblr is clearly going somewhere, so let it get there and enjoy the ride along the way. At the very least, take respite in the positive post that Skoon made. Because Skoon. Seriously, I did not see something that sweet coming, it was much more than any sort of clop could have compared to.

I always hated it when Tumblr’s do this, Shipping tease, followed by 5 pages of nothing, followed by more teasing, maybe even acknowledgement of one of the characters love for themself, followed by more pages of shipping tease and nothing, then finally they get together.
