I think it’s supposed to imply that Applejack’s in love with Rarity and is upset that not only does Rarity have a crush on Trenderhoof, but is also potentially mad at her because of Trenderhoof’s own infatuation

Did the artist even watch the episode? I mean, AJ was anything but sad about Rarity’s antics. Annoyed and irritated maybe, but sad? No, not really.
Unless this is supposed to be AJ’s lesbian angst. In that case, the has the artist even watched the show?
