Even though she still cherishes her family. It makes me wonder if she is having some issues with her real family that she doesn’t want to talk about. Not in front of her friends.
Do you remember Pinkie Apple Pie? You know where Pinkie was missing the feeling of being in a real family? And instead of contacting her REAL family, she tried to find out is she was related to the Apples?
Maybe it wasn’t about her design before but they have been ones complaining about her.

I saw some complaining when we first found out about here, in the one book before Pinkie Pride and a few when it came out, but how is now any change to them?

Well she mentioned them during how she got her cutie mark, but Maud was not in the flash back. So it is kind of the shining Armor affect, but they could have hinted that She had a brother by having his design in the background during a ceremony in Canterlot. Maud is just in a picture that put in the latest episode after Pinkie’s family had been known.
Personally, I can’t wait to see the episode to see how she gets alone with family being away from them for so long and how her new family “the Cake” react to them.
It’s even more stranger than Twilight for a Pony like Pinkie Pie to not talk about her family.
I’m okay with it. I think most of her negativity comes the fact she came out of nowhere.
My guess right now is that she has a cutie mark, relating to parties or something a lot more serious than rock farming, and has been trying to deny it for her life; the clothes are designed to specifically hide it (the hemline is much lower than the standard “dress” we’ve seen, even falling lower than the tail.
So this episode will be having Pinkie convince her that having fun is not a bad thing.
Just to hide the her cutie mark? Or the lack of it. Are they that lazy?
Anyways, her outfit looks rather medieval. Something tells me shes going to be a jerk.
