Hm. Don’t know about the whole lineage thing, but it would be interesting if the spell had to be done in parallel, sort of like two tunnelers meeting in the middle.

I dunno, maybe? Seems like it is some sort of object the portal is focused. But why would Starswirl perform a time travel spell that locks onto Trixie. And not just Trixie, but a Trixie with her Starswirl swag on and fully ready to demand an autograph? Maybe Trixie found the object in her time and “called back”.
 
Dunno. Anyways, I headcanon that Trixie is a descendant of Starswirl, and in that little box of wishes I keep in my head is that that’ll be a thing that happens in the show, considering how Starswirl is a recurring theme, the big wizard hat and the vague similarity between Trixie’s cutie mark and the star and moon symbol on Starwirl’s poster in Three’s a Crowd.

How did Trixie get ahold of the time travel spell in the first place? Wasn’t that blocked off and only accessible to special persons? Did Trixie somehow get ahold of a pass, or did she sneak into the castle?
