13 days old pic.
It would crack me if the breezies toys were not produced for whatever reason (low ratings, lack of resources, too much money into Equestria Girls and rainbow ponies to start a radically new line right now, etc)…and you know what would happen if the toys are not made?
Tons of desperate bronies WANTING breezies toys just becuz they don’t exist and buying overpriced plushies of them.
This fandom would KILL for day one official toys of Bulk Biceps, Discord, Button Mash, Spikezilla, the Mare do well, Donut Joe as Con Mane, the Changelings, etc…and whatever accesory for each one of those (OMG, I have Discord but I also need to get the Discord-mobile) . They always want more toys, but somehow they are offended if the toys are made or announced before the subject themselves were cool and popular with the fandom.
Back during Season 1 and most of Season 2, I wanted to buy the toys because I felt the show was good. If a show really is just that good and there is a way to support it, I will go out of my way to put my money where my mouth is, because I really want to see more awesomeness.
I think toy sales are less effective when it seems pretty obvious about what the show is doing. “Here’s a new toy! Go buy it!” Some people really resent that, and might actually discourage folks from doing just that. Not to mention that it feels a bit jarring when watching a show.
I mean, I think of 80s MLP and G.I. Joe. It was really painfully obvious.
My wife and I just watched the episode tonight. She had no idea that the Breezies were an actual thing. I asked her what she thought without any prompting, and she said, “Huh. New toy!” Bear in mind that she grew up with MLP since the 80s, too.
She thought it was cute. It just wasn’t very subtle.
And I think those some care too much about the meta.
And as I’ve brought up countless times in other places, there are some toys that never appeared in the show, and other things from the show that could’ve easily promoted toys, but no toys were made of them.
I think some might have found this unsubtle.
So who the fuck cares? Everything about this show is in some way designed to promote toys. Toy marketing is the reason we have Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash and not Surprise and Firefly. It’s the reason the show is even still on the air after this long. Why is it a bad thing that a company tries to make money so they can remain in business?
Thanks.
Actually, let me support you here; if someone who doesn’t pay attention to toys sees no problem here, why the hell does it matter? Then it’s just a new group of characters being introduced. The entire thing is a toyline, if you haven’t figured out for 3+ years.
Nah, they’re adorable. Even if it was out of nowhere, I like it.
Okay, then. I usually don’t keep track of the toys that are announced (in fact, I kind of found out about Rainbow Power purely by accident), so I honestly didn’t know.
Yes, there are.
They come with the new Flutters and Twi.
Have we actually seen any Breezie toys announced yet? If we have, then you’ve got a point. But if we haven’t, then what makes you so sure that there WILL be toys of it? We’ve had quite a few things from the show that didn’t get toys, and quite a few toys that never made it onto the show.
Except they ARE toy placements.
That’s where your argument fails.
(Crud, I probably should’ve posted those replies all at once, but I forgot I could do that)
Yeah, I hate it too.
(biting sarcasm) NO! You mean a show made by Hasbro has aspects of it that are specifically designed to sell toys? (end sarcasm)
What did you say?
Just goes to show you that some people simply don’t actually pay attention to the episode.
No wait, not love. The other thing. Hate.
it does let us see where they live, in a little cave hidden from the world…….. that and they are prempting the breeziefication.
