no, is blue blood and the other conspirators and Celestia a burning them from everypony and yes this scare many pony but not forget all the conspirators a betrayed everypony by murder a alicorn with the only metal who can kill a alicorn, see it as the kryptonite for alicorn(fan fiction) wont it, alicorn are immortal, this metal( i forget the name of it) is forbidden to use and made a weapon or even use it form the start, every mine site a be warning to never sell this mineral to make this metal and create the forbidden weapon( i think is fear by dragon too by the fact is a very deadly weapon) of course the weapon a be destroy for make sure is never be use again, but the worst part, is blue blood a lie to the younger sister of Pinkie and say both will married plus he a breed her too, only to gain her trust and get the forbidden mineral when is forbidden to seal it or give it and the rock farm of pie family are the only place this mieral can be fond!

This could also be a scene from a Pony-acted performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarf Ponies. :D

I think Tirek is responsible for this, I think he plotted revenge and this was it!

I’d rather prefer my headcanon that states that only Luna and Celestia live forever, while Cadance and Twilight will keep their normal lifespans.

They [alicorns] are ‘immortal’ only because their longevity. While being able to live for millenias without visible negative effects of aging, they still can be physically injured and killed. As depicted in ToaG, their bodies can also ‘wear out’ in extremely stressful and mentally painful situations (as sometimes happens to humans :P)

On the plus side, she wasn’t immortal.
