The plot points pertaining to the Cybretronians, I mean there were some good story ideas in there that got botched by Bay’s directing.
uhh….explosions?
>The very few good elements
…Like what?
Actually, they plan to use Keegan de Lancie to reprise his voice role in the game, what i mean is that the original Q went to mess with other worlds and i suspect he stayed in Equestria as Discord
And for their next trick, they’ll tie in the very few good elements of the Michael Bay films into their main TF comics and make them fully realized!
Is he voiced by John De Lancie? Because otherwise, they just couldn’t get him, obviously.
I thought Lauren was originally going to settle for a de Lancie imitator, but Hasbro said they could pull in the real deal. That’s what I’ve heard, anyway.
Either way, he seems to have a thing for blindly crossing paths with nerddom. No offense.
Ah.
It’s a little bit more than a voice actor joke; John de Lancie got the part playing Discord because Discord is loosely based on Q. Q is a trollish, chaotic nigh-omnipotent being who warps reality for the lulz, usually at the expense of lesser mortal beings, and frequently snaps his fingers when he’s about to change something or teleport. He also more or less got reformed by friendship, though remained a major league troll afterward. The most significant difference between the two characters is that Q is slightly more mature than Discord, is godlike but not specifically an avatar/spirit/god of anything and does what he does cause it’s fun, not because it’s a principle he represents, and is pretty much completely invulnerable to anything mortals might throw at him but is answerable to others of his own kind (there’s no Elements of Harmony to control Q, you have to rely on the other Q to do it and they frequently don’t feel like it.)
My understanding is that Faust and McCracken based Discord explicitly on Q, and then, while searching for a voice actor who could pull off a character like Q, went, “hey, what about the guy who actually played Q, is he available?” And then John de Lancie, who only reads his own parts of the scripts because he’s dyslexic and doesn’t bother watching the shows when he’s done because he doesn’t actually like television, had no freaking idea he was playing a Q-like character until he got swarmed by the fan mail, again (he got blindsided by the fandom for Q, too). (JDL once managed to not realize he was doing an episode of Touched By An Angel until halfway through shooting where he was like “Wow, I talk about God in these lines a whole lot…”) Nowadays, having become utterly fascinated by the concept of a fandom for a little girls’ cartoon being heavily dominated by young men, he’s very well aware of the fandom and has done a documentary on bronies, but when he did Return of Harmony he had no clue.
