SA: “Maybe the machine isn’t calibrated right.”
RD: “Pretty sure it is, big guy.”
RY: “I’m not sure this is the way to go about it.”
Spike: “Maybe we need more stimuli. I can find more photos.”
AJ: “What’s your game, loverboy?”

dm29: While Twilight and Princess Cadance are off dealing with Discord… There’s no better why to find out how much a colt loves a mare or just what his deal is with Twilight than with SCIENCE. No Royal Guards were hurt in the vectoring of this piece.

She obviously can’t read the “compatibility” part then.
It’s a piece of artwork by DM29. It’s set during the “Three’s A Crowd” episode.
Although I’d like it to be in an episode.
Let’s cut this debate off right here. A humorous dm29 image does NOT need the “drama in the comments” tag. Especially since this debate is more or less unrelated to the image.
Yeah.
Cuz all that light shone on her makes her place in the world clear as day to all but her.
So, despite the fact that Twilight has made it pretty clear that she doesn’t like ponies calling attention to her status, it’s somehow not “believable” because she’s “got it all.”
And you know what, I changed my mind. I’m going to counter that background pony’s claims.
Karma Houdini: Just because we don’t see any reprimanding or something like that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Besides, I really get tired of people insisting that the characters must be punished for every wrong they do. It’s one of the reasons I can’t stand half the “here’s why Canterlot Wedding sucks” fanfics: they’re too focused on “punishing” the other ponies for not listening to Twilight, even when those “punishments” are completely disproportionate.
Deus ex Machina: Learn your definitions. A Deus Ex Machina is a last-minute, unexplained plot device that conveniently fixes everything. I can certainly think of a few examples of this happening in the show, but none of them are from season 4. Heck, if anything, Twilight displaying all that magical power at the end of Boast Busters, a season 1 episode, is a deus ex machina, because she hasn’t displayed NEARLY that level of power ever since.
Not relatable or humble: I’m not sure what show you’re watching, but last I checked, Twilight still has all of her character flaws from before, and in the few episodes of the season that have actually focused on it, she has shown discomfort at ponies calling attention to her status.
It’s really hard to be believably humble when you got it all.
And few got it all like Twi does.
I could list several examples of why your assessment of S4 Twilight is complete bull (note that nearly every time her princesshood is brought up, she is DECIDEDLY uncomfortable with it and wishes that ponies didn’t call attention to it. How is that NOT humble?), but I literally do not have time right now. Besides, you’d probably just ignore me, or find a way to twist what I say to support your viewpoint. So even if I did have time, I wouldn’t bother.
Its easy to take things in stride when your a living ken doll like Flash Sentry, which is why I hate this ship with S1-S3 Twilight…
…but there trying make S4 Twilight a karma houdini Deus ex Machinaa Barbie Princess…
…so its making more sense by the second(facepalm)
Is it so hard to write her more relatable and humble?
Then again, Twilight probably had Spike build it in the first place.
Still Flash is apparently taking all this in stride pretty well.
Thank you for saying so. I wish I could say that I was the first to use it, but I saw it somewhere else first.
I really like that Dad Analogy you used.
Most people go for the Jealous Guy route.
Yes, you are correct on those fronts, but think about this: Doesn’t every fan artist or fan fiction author popularize a ship when they draw/write for it?
Right now, the only character development that Flash Sentry has comes from a few moments in EqG and what the fans are doing to him. That’s kind of scary, because if Flash has been introduced specifically to be Twilight’s love interest it should really be the show who is developing him, not the fans.
The “haters” are fans, too. At this moment, we have no reason to root for Flash Sentry. The fact that the staff has presented him solely as a love interest acts against him, not for him. Who is he? What has his development entailed? Why should we care about him? These are questions that we need to know before we can root for him. The “haters” are more like dads at this moment. “And what makes you special enough to date my little princess, boy?” we’re asking.
If it is only fan artists who answer that question, than we’re going to stay as dubious as Spike, Shining, A.J., R.D., and Rarity are in this great image.
Then again, there are always those dedicated haters…
Still this art piece is amazing.
The kid is two feet tall in a world of four foot tall ponies. He spends every day near everypony’s flank.
@Equestrian Marauder
People are getting ready for the inevitable romance plot of the series. “Mistakenly added in ‘Three’s a Crowd’” my ass.
Do you really want us to answer that?
I don’t know, maybe 4chans on the fritz or maybe the people WHO REALLY RUN THIS FANDOM have influenced it to their nefarious needs…either way I like that ship so i Can only approve.
And now you know why AJ and Rainbow tied Flash up in the last panel.
