looks likes da battery pack to me bud. one thing the Wii U Pro controller vastly improves upon. this here nickel cadmium only lasts so long and eventually holds no charge, but can be replaced by AAs so meh. but the WiiU Pro has a proprietary Lithium Ion that lasts crazy long. supposedly 80hours on one charge!
