Also, horses do occasionally eat meat.
I like to think anthro ponies eat meat, though only certain kinds. No beef, mutton, etc…as those are actual sentient races. But bear meat, pork, and fish is fair game. It makes more sense to me for a humanoid species to be omnivores for some reason.
