I think ‘misreading signals’ is perfectly accurate here, if the other comments are any indication.
Potential is not always realized. Besides, the flower trio is too busy building bunkers for the bunny apocalypse.
It might not be perfect for everypony. So for them they misread the signals and over react.
Except Pinkie managed to do exactly the same thing in the EG movie, both as a person and as a pony.
Maybe it’s an earth pony thing. But if so, why are the flower trio constantly frazzled and overreacting?
When you don’t have all those pesky insanity issues, you tend to deduce things properly.
Then again, between this and the last episode, Applejack seems a little TOO much about her friends.
