The Fosbury flop is the maneuver that high-jumpers use. They go over the bar backwards. By bending themselves over the bar so that their legs are still under it as their head goes below the bar, then kicking high and quickly as they fall over, they can actually managed to keep their center of mass a few inches below the bar. That means that a given jump can clear a higher bar.
 
YouTube or Wikipedia for “Fosbury flop” and you’ll see plenty of examples.
 
If the gun is some reference to the “Fosbery” misspelling, I don’t get it.
