If I understand correctly what you told be, we were actually of the same opinion (difference in humor standards aside) and the source of our argument is a matter of mere semantics?
 
See, your poor choice of words (like “this pic is not funny and that’s a fact” and “people who found it funny clearly misunderstood it” — not your exact words, I know, but that’s how I read them at the time) was what prompted me to respond in the first place, as I perceived them as you expressing an opinion that you judged the only valid one (I’m not saying that you were wrong, only that your phrasing was misleading).  
Therefore, I took offense to what I perceived as a misguided display of intellectual complacency and contempt for dissenting opinions (an impression, I must say, that wasn’t helped by your further disparaging comments about my own intelligence) and it all went downhill from there.  
What neither you nor I realized until this point was that we weren’t refering about the same thing and, although we were agreeing in substance, our distinct way to explain things prompted us to keep missing each other’s point, causing both our spirits to raise until the point where we were stuck in a loop of repeating ourselves in as many vain attempts to clarify our points, at least until you posted this:

There we have it. That was exactly what I said earlier (or at least meant to since I worded it differently and you obviously didn’t get it) and I can’t thank you enough for finally clarifying it.
 
As I see it, our divergence of viewpoint could be compared to the appreciation of a copy of a painting. Your stance would be that since it is not the genuine article, the copy is virtually worthless, whereas I would be of the opinion that, although I’m aware that it is less valuable than the real item, the picture can still be appreciated for how it looks. None of us is wrong there, because we judge according to our personal value system.
 
And that was the point I was trying to make by saying that you can’t pass such an opinion as factual, in which case you were absolutely right by saying that I read too much into it, and for that confusion I wish to sincerely apologize.
 
Then again, I must say that I at least tried to be civil about it, although I wasn’t stranger to resort to the occasional childish taunt, such as the downvote argument (for which I’m bound by my sense of accuracy to tell you that you were wrong by the way: you might be the second downvoter, but I can remember clearly that when I posted my second comment — which I consider as the point where I started to pick a bone with you —, the votes-vs-downvotes ratio was 30/5 (remember that I was talking about the 29 other upvoters in that comment) while it has now grown to 35/5 ; anyway this point was moot all along since there’s no telling for which reason they upvoted it (either they thought — and wrongly so, like you put it — that this was a genuine juxtaposition win or, like myself, they just liked the composition while being well aware that this was a setup), while the frustration caused by what you perceived from me as a drive to antagonize you at any cost seems to have depleted your reserve of patience and understanding quicker than mine, if your occasional bout of rudeness and your eventual ragequit (which is indeed exactly the form of cheap victory that a troll may seek to acheive, but I can assure you that it was neither my case nor my intention, all I wanted was for us to get to common ground) are any indication, and for that let me convey you my apologies as well.
 
Anyway, let’s at least agree that this argument has drawn out way too long and that for now on we should endeavour to avoid that kind of silly misunderstandings to happen in the first place, shall we?

i didnt miss any point. as i call, and you just quoted, i said ‘or whatever you perceive to be humor in this’ so ya maybe you should pay a lil more attention. ‘or whatever you perceive to be humor in this’ clearly means i dont see why you think its funny and whatever people find funny about it must be what your seein in it, regardless of if its funny or not. so ya your the only one missin things there.

incorrect. when i first saw this there was 1 downvote then i downvoted, next day i came back and there was 1 more next day 1 more, this ‘discussion’ has been goin on for a few days now so if you can do math that means each time ive gotten on theres been one more, except for today. which means one of the upvotes may have been there at any point and i just added it with the oth for that day.
 
at this point its become pretty clear your either misunderstanding what i said, too stubborn to just shut up and let it die, or just a troll fightin to fight. you just keep sayin the same things over and over and i got too much to do to be wasting my time with this so im done. theres no right or wrong at this point just me making a statement and you disagreeing cause your apparently understanding what i was sayin wrong. either way i just dont care enough to keep this crap goin.

Once again, you’re completely missing my point. I claimed that the situation depicted in this picture (the face-off with identical expressions) was the funny thing (not hilariously so though, therefore I cannot fault you for not laughing at it) and that, like you said, it’s usually funnier when it’s a random occurence (of which I’m well aware that it’s not in this case, hence the lower value of humor present in this picture*).
 
You find these pictures funny because they occur by random chance, fair enough.  
You dislike those who don’t because you deem them fake, well, too bad for you but that’s your right.  
But don’t you go professing to those who liked them for another reason (albeit a weaker one) that they’re wrong because they don’t follow your own logic that you’re generalizing as “common sense”.

i dont need to be the authority on humor, its common sense something you apparently dont posses, the only humor anyone finds in this is what they misunderstand to be the ‘coincidence’ or whatever you perceive to be humor in this.

There you go again. Who gave you the authority on deciding what makes something funny or not in the first place? Humor is relative, not factual.  
I concede that in pictures like these the juxtaposition element may merely constitute the basest level of humor (without it there would be no joke at all after all) and the serendipitous nature of their usual happening is something that takes it to a higher level of appreciation because of the amazement at the coincidence.
 
Example: this scary maze prank reaction. Does the fact that it’s actually a SNL sketch (pre-recorded laughs and all) make it unfunny?
 
So yeah, maybe I only got a cheap laugh out of this one, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it was void of any humor in the first place.

i was just pointing out a fact your the one who chose to argue. fact is if you take the humor from a joke then the joke isnt funny and the only way to find it funny is by misunderstanding the attempted joke or making it funny a different way. that is a fact regardless of how many times you call it an opinion.

IMO it’s the juxtaposition that makes the joke, contrived or not. If you have another opinion, that’s fine but don’t try to shove it down other people’s throats (and I see that your petty argument didn’t keep this picture from garnering another upvote, maybe you need to track down the person who did it to explain him how wroooong he was).  
Also I don’t need anything to smoke to have a good time, thank you very much, but maybe you do since you insist on being so uptight and antagonizing.

i guarantee you none of those 29 people noticed this was set up. the joke is the coincidence, if its set up then theres no coincidence and there for no joke. if you find a joke without the joke funny then i want some of whatever your smokin cause its clearly working.

downvote cause their all by the same artist, who uploaded this pic as well, which deaseats the purpose of pics like this. pics like this are funny because they occur by random chance, when you set them up like this their not funny or amusing.  
this is essentially the same as if they had just done the pic of them all together in the first place instead of trying to fake a meme.
