Her spell is actually does one of 2 things which does go with sewing. It either glues it together magically or actually sews it back together using the plant fibers. Either version of my guess on what the spell does would be perfect for setting a gem in a garment without making it look too sewn on.

Actually, shes been able to do this for a while. She does it back in Winter Wrap-up i think? She basically reattaches a twig to a tree after its been ripped off.

Usually i dislike Rarity having her magic shown off (since shes a dressmaker, not a mage) but i admit liking this spell because it fits the sort of thing shed learn to do after ripping one too many dresses.
