Everywhere other than Ponyville is something of a [Town] of Hats (Content Warning: TV Tropes) due to time constraints. To varying degrees: Canterlot is more fleshed out than the Crystal Empire, for example.

The red one actually has blue fur he’s just wearing a red bodysuit.
Might be the reason why Fancy is surprised that Rarity is from Ponyville, other cities probably have stereotypes over it, not just Canterlot.
This fandom never lets logic or reason get in the way of making a dumb joke.
Which makes me wonder. In the big cities, the ponies all wear at least some semblance of clothing, even in Appaloosa they at least wore hats.
Ponyville is seemingly nudist in comparison.
I’m always concerned as to if Rarity is naked or not.
