@Background Pony Number 17 I’m not so sure Rarity actually BECAME a Flutterpony though. Rarity’s wings melted from the heat of the sun; last I remembered, that NEVER happened with the Flutterponies, and they guarded the Sun Stone that ensured Flutter Valley was safe from eternal winter.

It is, and I’m sure it’s no coincidence. Twilight’s spell made Rarity go through a “metamorphosis” to become a flutter-pony. It stands to reason that metamorphic spells like this have that “cocoon” effect.
