Although on the flip-side, there’s a lot of re-used animation in the game. Played start-to-finish there’s only 22 minutes of footage on the LaserDisc, and that includes the death and resurrection sections (which are the same animation played over different backgrounds), numerous mirrored scenes, repeating sections that use the same animation several times (the elevator, boat, flying horse and rolling ball scenes most obviously) and generic reused animations (Dirk running/walking/leaping forward, etc). All-told there’s probably less than 10 minutes of original animation. Still a lot of work, but not as much as it initially appears.

I think that would largely depend on if the fans want the same Bluth-quality animation, and if so, that would be a lot of work.
 
Heck, that’s probably why that segment didn’t go on longer than it did.
