I was more talking about how within the context of this “series” I would never do something like this, especially if I knew. Comes off as being an asshole.

In the end it’s her decision and it doesn’t really matter that much if Spike or the other guy does more favours for her or spends more time with her; she may not end up with either of them.
It just strikes me as odd that both men and women talk about people being “off limits” or “stepping back” from them because they know one of their friends is romantically interested in them when, in the end, their agreements have little to do with it.
Plus the love interest in question probably won’t be very happy whenthey ultimately find out that you’ve essentially turned them into a prize

It took me a while to realize that Spike wasn’t crushing on anon.
Anon is in a relationship/interested in Rarity, and Spike finds out. That’s why he feels betrayed, because he considered Anon his friend.
