Although it’s highly suspect (given apology from the accused), there were also no charges brought up. Makes it hard for me to believe when the only source was an interview from buzzfeed.
It’s even on his Wiki page. it’s not hard to find.
Hol’ the hell up. I’mma need a link for what you two are going on about.
Yeah, I loved his works too, so it’s a shame he turned out to be a perv’… It’s a shame it’s also tainted “Ren & Stimpy”‘s legacy, my local Wal-mart even stopped carrying R&S DVDs.
Though, I kinda hate how people are being like, “We shouldn’t be surprised, because of how weird his works are.”
To me, that’s like saying somebody who makes a violent horror movie or game is a potential “serial killer.”
He also said “And I didn’t even have to shoot anyone’s mom this time. I made people cry over the fact that Stimpy couldn’t fart a second time.”
That’s interesting to know about “Son of Stimpy”. I always thought that episode stood out as breaking the usual R&S formula.
If you’ve ever visited his blog, you’ll know that the guy is INCREDIBLY opinionated. He hates ANY animation that isn’t classic Warner Brothers or Fleischer, and he claims that cartoons are only allowed to be funny, never sad. (He wrote “Son of Stimpy” specifically to show how easy it is to manipulate people into being sad with the right music and lighting effects.)
I also love how he chose to draw my favorite of the mane six, which makes sense considering how cartoony Pinkie Pie is ♥
That was my first thought too.
@K_A
I never knew any of that.
That’s. Awesome.
You think they’ll still go through with making the parody at some point?
@toonbat
That’s… kinda accurate.
Ah, coolies. Hope they can make the movie then. :)
I never actually played “Dragon’s Lair,” but I’ve seen videos of the original arcade game, and saw the sequel in an arcade somewhere a few years ago.
The animation is quite good, and makes me miss old-school 2D animation.
Dude, he’s already at 87%.
I heard of that too, but I don’t know if he’s getting enough support for that yet.
Awesome! Somebody needs to get him to draw ponies sometime like they did with John K here.
@Beau Skunky
Update: Don’s actually working on a Dragon’s Lair animated movie, so at least he’s still doing stuff. Got some kind of Kickstarter for it going. As an animation pro I’m sure he’s at least heard of FiM.
Would be awesome to see. Don Bluth needs more love honestly, he got a bad rap just ‘cause his ‘90s movies weren’t as good as his ‘80s ones. (Which wasn’t entirely his fault, as executive meddling forced him to make them more cliche’, and Disney-ish. Still, I liked “Rock-a-Doodle,” don’t care what anyone says.)
“Titan A.E.” (his last movie made back in the year 2000) shows how a Don Bluth movie could be without all the exec-meddling, (it was a bit more mature then the usual animated movie at the time) but sadly it was largely ignored. (It’s a good movie regardless, great blend of 2D & 3D animation.)
Don’t need to imagine. We have the .MOV series.
Yeah, that’s what makes it the best show ever, but what do you hate about it? :3
Oh come on lighten up, real life isn’t sugar coated, and whimsical either.
