Yep, in the “Pucchigumi” magazine in Japan. I hear the reason for it is that American comics, in general, don’t tend to sell too much in Japan, so American series often get manga adaptations, even if they’re getting comic adaptations stateside (as is the case with the IDW comics for this series)
 
And personally, I’m kinda hoping it gets licensed and translated by an American distributor at some point (I dunno how likely that is, what with the IDW comic series still in production and selling like hotcakes), though fan translations will definitely hold me over until that point, if and when that comes, haha
