Reliant is the manufacturer’s name, the earlier van like models were called ‘Regals’, with the later passenger versions called ‘Robins’.
They’re actually surprising stable. Probably the biggest fuel for the tipping myth was Jeremy clarkson neglecting to mention his model had three different sized wheels (With a list to the drivers side) when it appeared on Top Gear.
But arent they prone to scraping the ground or otherwise becoming unstable if you take a sharp turn. To call it the ”reliant” robin might’ve been a bit presumptuous
U.K vehicle classification laws. Any vehicle with three wheel technically classes as a motorcycle, yes, even if it has a car body on it like a reliant!
Thus, cheaper emissions tax, cheaper to afford a license, and in my neck of the woods (With it’s notoriously remote and twisty roads) in the event of really bad weather, such as a snowstorm, they’re light enough to simply drive over snowdrifts!
Actually, it’s a Reliant Regal, but barely anybody can tell the difference.
Oh….Oh my. sits there uncomfortably
Oh. I don’t know much about Mr. Bean, except that mom made me watch a funny bit on last year’s Olympics where he was running on a beach, and took a taxi to catch up.
She’s supposed to be Mr Bean’s teddy.
It’s a joke.
“… and the calculus’ test on the back of the sheet…”
Of course looks like vinyl and tavi would agree with Clarkson now XD
The other ‘three-wheel tip-over joke’ was actually made by a friend of mine who was inspired by the fact I gave Vinyl a reliant. That comic actually motivated me to get this piece finished, which had remained a rough pencil sketch for the past month and a half.
Loved the reference, Bob.
@KennyC
Maybe there’s a reason…
Or is this just a new thing, like the Rarity vs Giant Crab stretch of pictures we had?

My understanding is the Robins were originally brought out because technically they qualified as “motorcycles” and people who worked for Welsh Collories bought them in droves because you didn’t have to pay taxes on them.
