I was in a 1 on 1 with a friend and just as he launched a blue shell i pulled behind him into second, talk about backfiring

just to let you know actually Dodging a blue shell with mushrooms started ever since Mario Kart DS and also in mario kart Wii, and ofcorse in 7, if you ask me, blue shell ruin the game.

Maybe things have changed since Mario Kart Double Dash (yes, I’m behind), but nearly every time I fall out of first place after a blue shell starts seeking me out but before it finds me, it still sticks to me. I’ve occasionally been able to dodge it by sharply changing direction at the same instant that it catches up with me, but I’m a poor racer and my success rate with that tactic is probably about 10%.

How to avoid the shell yourself: if other racers a close behind you, reverse until they pass you and said passer will be hit and you should be safe. Works 90% of the time!
