I just thought it would be hilarious if Spike was the center square. In reality, the center square spot is all Pinkie’s.
BTW shouldn’t Pinkie Pie be the center square (or maybe Celestia, not sure who’d be the better Paul Lynde)?

It’s reserved for one particular celeberty throughout the run. Paul Lynn was the center square during the beginning. Then it switched to Gene Rayburn during the years it was tied up with Match Game. I think the latest version had Whoopi Goldberg.
He wanted to be the center of the attention.
