As far as you may think, why the hell I’m re-uploading this again, actually this was more or less a “properly” shaded and tweaked pic of Blueblood as Jesus Praying in the Garden.
Well, first, I must say many thanks for Lexis to properly teach me how to do create and manipulate images using Paint Tool SAI. And second, I won’t upload this image if he didn’t encourage me to do so.
Well, we did chat a lot about the implications about this image, but I’m particularly touched with his opinion about this. Well, we all knew that, admit it or not, our mental images when we think about Jesus was (or is) mostly a Blonde, Caucasian male with Blue eyes, a very western traits, and unlikely one to be found on Historical Jesus, thanks for western artists’ conception of Jesus.
Of course, concerning Prince Blueblood himself, and his own… pelicular arrogance, snobbishness, and well… illusion of perfection in the eyes of those who didn’t really knew him, fit perfectly with the theme of how we mistook our perception of Jesus (both Historical and or Spiritual ones).
Yeah, somewhat ironically, they are both depicted as generalized idealizations of Western beauty, but yet, deep inside, we never really knew what he looks like, and even more, we never really consider what is the meaning of his messages.
In short, in our mind, most of the time, our conception of Jesus Christ and Christianity is a selfish, arrogant faith, who basically judge everyone with “You don’t believe in Jesus? You go to Hell.” and such, who are inherently based on our own sense of superriority, perfection, and well, more or less arrogance towards those who didn’t agree with us… just like what Prince Blueblood do.
So, according to Lexis, this art actually has a deeper meaning in his interpretation. This actually shown who we (Christians), really are, most of the time. We used to think ourselves as perfect, chosen people who used to belittle and dismiss the others as insignificants. We are used to be arrogant people who consider the others unworthy, and well, we actually put ourselves as judges in God’s position to condemn the others to hell…
But what will Jesus really do?

My God. That could produce a literal black hole of downvotes… a downvote singularity sucking in the rest of the booru and destroying us all. Let’s not do that.
And Sonic! Don’t forget Sonic!
Cue the downvotes, though, just like before.
Well, it does have both Blueblood and a reference to Jeebus, so I guess all it would need is the latest pop star of the month and it would be a Holy Trifecta of Downvotes.
