Oh, I’m aware. Their anatomies are pretty far off from actual ponies, partly to play up the human baby proportions for the cute factor and partially to allow for more human-like action (and, yes, partially due to blatant animation screw ups). I have to consider them as to regular ponies what humans are to other primates. Or maybe what elves are to other primates what with the whole magic thing going on.
The ponies do much more impossible things with their legs.
Serpents have hemipenes, though, which are usually kind of… spiky and round and not at all that large. Unless you’re talking about the tail looking like it’s coming out from the stomach, which would make sense for reptile whose legs tend to come out the sides of their bodies. Problem with that is that Spike wouldn’t be able to walk on two legs or even in in the same way as a pony on four legs if he were anatomically structured like a legged serpent.
Well, techninally dragons are serpents, so this makes sense. Sometimes things are funny because they’re drawn correctly.
