I’m glad I’m not the only one.
An American Football field is fixed at 100 yards between goal lines and 53 1/3 yards wide; a soccer pitch (apparently?) varies from 100-130 yards between goal lines and 50-100 yards wide. All I know is that any time I watch a soccer game on TV it takes them roughly twelve days to zigzag from one end to the other and the pitch looks like it should have its own post code.
…I’m not sure how exactly this jerkbutt of a phone managed to turn a hyperbolic comment about three periods feeling like three hours each into one three hour game, but I do know that editing text fields sucks a whole bag full on a damn Samsung keyboard. >_< NFL games of course take longer in real time than FIFA games, but the difference is in how that time is spent; football is a series of brief flurries of furious action with enough time in between to build up suspense and where there’s some kind of payoff (either scoring or side-changing) every few plays, while futbol is just nonstop action all the time with constant control changes and there’s only occasionally a potential scoring payoff. It’s more exhausting to watch because it never slows down.
Football also has way more opportunity for statistics nerds to nerd the hell out than futbol’s freeform play, and boy howdy do we as a nation like to live vicariously through somebody else’s numerically quantifiable achievements.
And if you need any proof about whether a good kicker is important or not, just compare Vinateri and Scott Norwood
He can make a tackle on a defender trying to go in the end zone on kickoffs. So yeah Kickers are not absolutely nothing.
Every soccer player can play any part, the only exception being the goalie. In American Football every player only plays one part, including the kicker, who does absolutely nothing unless the game calls for a field goal attempt.
I love both sports, but can see why people would dislike one or the other as long as they knew what they were talking about.
Must’ve been one of those artificial turf hyprids of soccer/american football we have here at some schools, mainly colleges/universities…..but yeah, it does look like someone painted the field differently in between scenes
The term Soccer was actually invented in England shortly after the game Association Football was created.
Officially naming it Soccer in the US came about because American Football was invented shortly after and originally played with mostly the feet. Which is why they call it football.
In the US Soccer became the official name since American Football and Association Football both sound stupid to say so they used Football for one and the once nickname Soccer for the other creating a clear division.
This led to arguments on the internet from people whom want it said “right.” The UK then distanced themselves from the nickname they created and betrayed the US. When I called the US ambassador and asked them if this damaged Anglo American relations he said and I am quoting: “Are you high or something?”
Whether this currently active conflict could provoke WW3 is still up for debate.
My thoughts exactly on ponyfortress fags doing the same.
Spitfire is part snake. {She has some naga in her blood.}
Football is Soccer in Britain. Not in the U.S.
The soccer field could not contain the combined awesomeness of Spitfire and Rainbow Dash so they carried the game onto the football field to spare the soccer field’s life.
They didn’t care enough?
