No, not really.

Horses will chew on soft woods or pinecones, but they basically only do it because theyre really damn bored and have an inbuilt instinct to graze.

In fact, pinecones are full of turpentine. So pinecones probably taste pretty awful really.

Ive always thought of Trixie’s (admittedly totally fanon) pinecone fixation as a sort of bad habit. Like chewing your fingernails or eating ice. She presumably spends large amounts of her time travelling from place to place, by herself, with probably not much to do or eat. Pinecones sort of make sense as a pony equivalent to chewing gum or something.

They’re all liars. It’s impossible to be cuter than Fluttershy. Unless you’re a pony baby. But then your’re still no match for baby Fluttershy.

But Monsieur, it is not just any pinecone. We take the finest selection of aged pinecone imported from the Whitetail Forest, marinated for 72 hours in an award-winning Chateau Margaux marinade, slow-roast them for six hours in our wood-fired, clay-filled oven, garnished with herbs from our private garden and served on a mahogany plate.
