Frankly, I don’t think my sense of humor aligns with yours at all. So, I suppose I’ll declare the exact opposite and say I find no reason for Dan Vs. “deserves” to continue, but FIM is certainly still welcome.

Honestly, people are going to hate me for this, but I’ve never genuinely laughed at MLP. I’ve smiled, I’ve been entertained by the characters’ antics, but I’ve never really found it funny.
 
Dan Vs. is one of the few shows EVER that had me laughing my ass off. And it’s the creators’ first show ever. I admit some of the earlier episodes were sort of meh because the show was still finding its style, but the same applies to MLP. Heck, I think MLP has had MORE episodes that just didn’t work. And it’s made by people who have tons of experience with cartoons.
 
Sorry, not trying to force my opinion down your throat. Think whatever you want to think, but I personally think Dan Vs. is way more deserving of more episodes than MLP:FiM (still love both of them though).

Dan Vs. is/was the only show that I think topped MLP.

Absolutely nothing. It’s The Hub, Film Roman and The Hatchery.

The show was kind of uneven. I’m not really surprised that it didn’t manage to go on indefinitely. Three seasons was a pretty good run considering.
 
I am very sorry the series didn’t end with a “Dan vs. Everything” episode where Dan destroys the Earth, though.
