Actually, it’s both a weapon AND jewelry.
 
And I don’t think this is a terribly practical way to store your magical superweapons. You should at least keep the Elements in the same town that their users live in.

Anyway, I like Lauren Faust’s concept here (and where’s this quote taken from, that guidebook that came out a few months ago?), but if the current show staff decide not to follow it, it’s not a big deal.

Let’s face it, as MacGuffins, the elements are always gonna end up stolen or ineffective until the last minute, so it really doesn’t matter if they wear them around or keep them in a vault. I still think though, that just leaving it on her bed side was still incredibly thoughtless on Twilight’s part.

Is the same principle as a nightstand weapon. Try getting to the gun safe in the garage when there’s a dude in your living room and see what happens.

Yeah, it’s not like keeping them locked is what literally caused Chrysalis to almost win.

There is Lauren’s idea, then the idea the people running the show after she was gone had, then there is the ideas of the people making a big deal out of the whole thing.
