Personally, I think the anatomy is fine… for the reason you mentioned.
I’m not a fan of his style, though. Not that I dislike it, but still.
Boo-fucking-hoo, an artist doesn’t use 100% accurate anatomy. Who gives a flying fuck? Not everything needs to be super realistic with anatomy and proportions. Find something better to do than complain about pointless things.
I talked to Jay at BronyCon and got into a discussion about his style change. Personally, I don’t mind it. It’s just evolution of the artist, trying new things, seeing how things turn out and if they don’t go well, you can always devolve back to what you started with and try it again.
Oh well…
