Today 23/09 according to wikipedia is the day of bisexuality,so have a happy day for all bisexuals in the world
And homosexual flag looks like rainbow while pansexual flag looks like pinkie.
With that logic, people would say Rainbow Dash is gay just because her color scheme is the same as the Gay Pride Flag.
…
Oh wait.
And how long did any of their accomplishments in peace and harmony last?
Oh yeah, that’s right. They didn’t. India is as deadly a place to live as any in the world, Buddhist monks have to hide away in monasteries because the rest of the world doesn’t give two shits about their pacifism, and the hippie movement died almost as fast as it sprang up.
Contrary to what some naïve parents like to teach their kids, it only takes one interested party to start a fight. The only choice the second party has is whether to fight back or just take the beating.
Tell that to Gandhi’s followers, tell that to Buddhist monks, get atime machine and go back to the 60’s and tell that to the hippies.
Like I said, hopeless idealist.
Violence is intrinsic to human nature. You can’t change that, ever - no matter how many flowery speeches you throw at it.
I never said there won’t be conflicts but at the very least we could learn to solve them peacefully.
You are a hopeless idealist if you actually think human nature will let someone slide through their whole life without having to draw a line in the sand somewhere.
Personally, I like to think that one falls in love the person, not their genitals.
One thing I don’t get about these “days” though; what exactly are they supposed to be about? Are they meant to raise awareness for something? Is it a matter of giving people a reason to feel good about being them? Because, like I said, I don’t need any kind of special day to tell me that I shouldn’t be ashamed of myself.
Why do I say that? Because sexuality isn’t as easily pigeonholed as people seem to think. I personally know people whom have become psychologically unhinged because they cannot easily catagorise their sexuality, and this is why I think that no form of sexuality should be considered taboo; because once we start drawing lines in the sand, those lines inevitably come to define what is “right” and what is “wrong”…
Aside from my birthday, I mean.
That’s actually a pretty good idea.
It would be nice if we could teach children to get along and solve problems with words instead of violence, the future of humanity could move forward with mantra of peace. Instead it’s supposed to be bad parenting if you don’t let your kid get in a fight because then they grow up to be a wimp.
You underestimate several aspects of human behavior. Fighting is literally encoded into our genes. Eons of evolution down our lines have bred it into us.
Now, one is not bound by your genes. The expression of such can be denied. But there will always be those willing to fight. And as a consequence, the others have to be willing to defend. It’s a cultural arms race.
Well none of those days apparently mean much since I have never heard of any day like that.
there are multiple examples of that throughout the year, such as world humanitarian day. i presume today counts as well.
I don’t know, after all the government can’t do anything if the people don’t agree to fight for it. If the people of the world agreed to not fight each other regardless of what the government says war would not exist, unless some fat bald world leader can use a machine gun.
