I feel like a lot of MordeTwi haters here just didn’t really watch Regular Show. “He’s a dopey slacker” That’s not entirely true; that’s Rigby’s fault most of the time anyways, and Mordecai always knows when he needs to get back to work. He’s not lazy - don’t conflate slacking with laziness. He just loves hanging out with his lifelong friend, which sometimes means not doing their job - at least not properly.

Also, whenever someone asks “why is this ship a thing”: was that always them trying to imply the pairing would never happen, or are they seriously questioning why shipping is happening?

Both shippings are pretty much hated equally, hence why crossover-shipping is pretty much despised here. Have to look at this perspective how not only how the characters’ personalities may or may not clash, but also from a design POV. Sonic and Mordecai were ever designed to be cute. They have their “cute” moments but sometimes having a biped next to a four-legged comes with some visual risk. Given Deadpool or Dan vs. and Pinkie Pie, it works better as platonic and the more images with the platonic settings are placed, the more positive upvotes are scored (shipping could happen but only secondary to platonic).
 
If shipping images get “shoved” in without building some signs of platonic images of making the possibility of shipping might work and at high volume/low quality; audience here gets tired of the same old and automatically become biased toward sonicxRD or MordeTwi.

I would not that far, there has been rare images of Sonic and Rainbow Dash having positive upvotes (just volume of poorly drawn/cosposed images may suggest that); however, there has been little to no positive upvoted images of MordeTwi in a shipping setting (anything upvotes is of non-shipping themed).

Yeah, in fact I’ll go as far to say Rainbow Dash X Sonic the Hedgehog makes more sense…  
(Yet, it’s way more hated in comparison to “Mordetwi’.”)
 
Though, I’m not a huge fan of ’shipping in general personally. I think some fans are to fixated on that.

I will never understand how or why this is a ship. ANY unicorn would instantly freak Mordecai out, and Twilight would likely get incredibly annoyed by such a dopey slacker. Honestly, even Flash Sentry is better.

Would’ve been hilarious if this were true, and they did post that fanart piece, or something. Just to see all the butthurt it’d bring.
