The Dragon immunity seems like a step too far for me. Being SE against them is fine but a regular resistance to Dragon attacks will suffice.
They also nerf the other OP type: Fighting. Many have above 110 attack and access to at least one of Superpower, Close Combat or Hi Jump Kick. Keldeo, a rare specially oriented Fighting type, gets Secret Sword, bypassing Blissey’s otherwise gargantuan SpD. Sawk can sweep any NU team that lacks a Ghost type/Musharna.
Psychic type needed balance cause its strength was too high for something so easily found in the wild, Dragons are justifiable and their advantage in strength is rewarding for catching them. Only a few Dragon Pokémon are genuinely broken and needed balancing, but nerfing the whole type with this Fairy nonsense makes many underrated Dragons even less usable.
Actually, they are. Think of Dragons as the Psychics of Gen 1. THAT was OP. Then the Dark types were introduced.
Like Fairy to Dragon, they are immune to Psychic and effective against them. This did not mean a Poochyena can knock out an Azelf since Azelf’s stats and movepool allow it to fight back effectively.
Don’t worry, Dragon Pokemon can learn a variety of moves of other types. Plus they still have epic stats compared to many of those wussy Fairy-type Pokemon.
You can’t be serious…
Flying is effective against fighting because it’s very hard to hit a flying target with a melee attack.
Yep. And fairies are immune to Dragon-type moves.
Word of warning: Steel types are no longer resistant to Ghost or Dark moves.
Just put a steel or poison type pokemon on your team of dragons and watch the fairies fall. Might I recommend Honedge? Because who doesn’t want a friggin’ ghost sword on their team to kick ass? Or if you want to stick to dragon-like pokemon, get yourself a Charizard to help tank Fairy type attacks.
in one week all the kids who play CoD will be playing GTA 5
That’s what I mean. It almost makes sense until you start to examine it in any kind of depth.
Who would be more likely to punch a bird, someone who excels at fighting or someone normal with average skill? By logic it should be the fighter, but Pokémon mechanics make it so a Normal type hit is more effective against Flyers than a Fight type hit.
Pokémon type interactions try so hard to make sense that they actually makes less of it.
@lumpfish
I… guess that makes sense? Based on the theory of “too tiny to hit, too big to miss.” It’s about on par with “have you ever tried to punch a bird?”
Not only that, they’re immune to dragon-type attacks.
That’s where all the kids who play CoD are supposed to be
yes, they are, plus fairy is IMMUNE to dragon attacks.
Hot.
