Okay, to clarify, what I meant is that I don’t want to see a premise like “Mane 6 gets possessed by the Nightmare forces, the other Mane 6 (Time Turner, Lyra, Sweetie Drops, Derpy Hooves, come in to save the day” to happen in any kind of canon. Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay if someone picks this up as fanon, I just don’t want to see this happen in canon. It just feels like pandering to the max.

Good point, though that’s still not going to stop people (like me) from complaining that the Mane 6 is no longer balanced. Though I think that’s just a minor problem, and can live with it.

@James Rye: Wouldn’t the fact that Twi’s an alicorn mean we get a 3-2-3? Considering that Alicorns are supposed to be a mixutre of all three pony types?

3 Earth ponies, 2 Unicorns and one pegasi and nobody screams bloody murder about the holy 2-2-2 of the three races thingie but everybody flips out when Twi is an alicorn and we get a 2-2-1-1?  
Whatever.  
Or how about only one male who’s also the center of said 6-group of the new elements? Like “why must a male lead the five women? can’t one of them do the job?” etc?  
Whatever.
