Their prominence may have lasted one season, but it certainly was memorable.

Oh yes indeed, I loved her singing. :) Helps that her voice actress, Bernadette Peters, is in fact a professional Broadway actor. :P Last I heard she’s supposed to be playing Glinda the Good Witch in some upcoming CG film based on The Wizard of Oz (with one of Frank L. Baum’s descendants acting as producer no less; and the movie is unrelated to Sam Raimi’s recent Oz film), I hope this means we’ll hear more awesome singing from her in animated form. :)
Basically she and this big dumb dog would wander from place to place looking for a home. Hijinks ensue, usually with someone wanting Rita for some nefarious purpose (like a wanting her guts to string violins) and Runt would unwittingly save the day. What really made these parts though was Rita’s singing, it was fantastic.
