I like the dark humor and the catchy songs.
Well yeah, but it’s hard to enjoy Sweetie Bot with so many mean spirited, bland characters around. Just add in A Conversion Bureau thing and you’ve completed the idiotic world. (I could really see them doing that.)

I wish I knew, honestly.
My current thesis is that it’s popular not because of the whole, but because a lot of people like a certain thing about it (Sweetie Bot, for example). Ergo:
I like Sweetie Bot, therefore I like Friendship is Witchcraft
Why are they so popular if they are so bad. {Except for Sweetie Bot. I have to agree that is genius, but aside from that, pain-inducing awfulness.}
