I couldn’t get behind the story. The artwork was gorgeous yet I felt like the first half of the tale featured too much repetition. The main conflict started and stopped within two pages and I felt pretty let down.
It’s still a fun read, but I would put it somewhere in the middle of the rankings.
I just found the whole thing and I completely agree with you. Though I might like it a tad better than Pinkie’s but opinions ;)
It’s fun and a good solid story with great art, but it’s not quite Rarity-tier awesome. It does march in line with Pinkie’s in terms of heartwarming.
(So far this micro gets closer and closer to Rarity-tier)
I didn’t say they must get their cutie marks simultaneously. Though, that would mirror what happened to the mane 6.
Maybe they could stay in they don’t all get theirs at the same time.
Stretch it out and all.
That’s kinda sad. Somepony should’ve at least hinted it to her. Much like Sweetie Belle with
being cutesinging and Scootaloo with her scooter. I know them earning their cutie marks will essentially negate their purpose in the show, but perhaps them getting their cutie marks will create new possibilities. If anything, it’ll give Hasbro an excuse to make new toys. You don’t get it until you realise it’s your special talent. For example Rarity didn’t get her cutie mark when she made the play costumes she got it when she saw how happy everyone was when they saw them.
In Applebloom’s case she’s never noticed and no one has told her how good she is.
Whatever.
It’s Ben Bates, who also did the Pinkie micro but there used solid lines and digital coloring.
This pencil-lines and watercolor look is totally awesome for this comic and story, though I don’t know if it would work for all. It helps to capture the playful and innocence of the CMC story.
Because plot, shut up.
Though it does look like Apple Bloom’s got a nail suck in her head.
