It wasnt much of a critique you know, one critique would be more like:
 
Twilight hair is the only one multicolored considering the fact that all the others have purple-ish colors so it quite breaks the effect on her(even though her hair IS purple its way brighter compared to the others)
 
Fluttershy wings, how could you forget Fluttershy wings!?!(though since she lives on the ground i dont think she ll miss them much :p)
 
The characters(as you said) look like they ve been positioned to stay as close as the game…but tbh i dont think it did work, maybe some background ponies could fit more than some of the mane 6  
The secret Derpy and all those cards were a good add to it though
 
Hope you didnt took the first comment too srlsly as an critique…that would be bad since wasnt supposed to be one

Although, I will argue that I did not mean for this piece to be taken as “Slap-on Ponies.” I don’t like making any pony parody nonsensical. I tried to make everything as believable as possible: Canon location, canon characters, and none of that different universe stuff like Borderlands pony crossovers for example. Ponies playing a common card game? Totally Slap-on.
 
Also, how did I forgot those damn wings?!

Crossovers can be good if you put some thought into them, but if you just slap random ponies on it and call it a day then it just looks dumb.
