It’s possible, though I think this kind of thing was already a fairy tale trope, the G1 writers loved adding mythology into their show.
Well actually, I was referring to the red cloak/dress, the long raven hair, and beauty mark; but yeah, that too…
The youth-siphoning witch is a pretty common trope in general.
I’m surprised nobody else has mentioned it….
iirc she s a witch who syphons the life out of others to make herself young. she hypnotized the ponies into staying at her amusement park so she could drain their youth. she also imprisoned the unicorns to power her own magic
