You can find Pathfinder rules for free too:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/
You only need to pay for the books if you want a physical copy. Also those books are huge for $40.
There are three core books, and last I saw Pathfinder books they went for forty bucks each. I recommend Legend, available for free at RuleofCool.com
And you could literally do it all day because you would never run out of mana unless you were spamming the fuck out of heavy heals. Yeah, honestly I did like it. Because it was easy and effective :P
Why they had to ruin the ability to have small, low-mana-cost, fast heals, I don’t know. :<
Still, I can’t really hate Cata too much. It added Worgen. And my second favorite raid after Karazhan. (DS10)
Then I got a new alt and healed my way from 1 to 85 as a worgen disc priest. A spec I could actually enjoy soloing with, too, and without having to swap to an entirely different set of armor.
FUCKING BUBBLES ♥
I also recommend Pathfinder for those looking for a fantasy RPG system to play.
@chaos15
Give Pathfinder a shot. You may find you prefer 4e, however pretty much everyone I have RP’d with vastly prefers Pathfinder. WotC wanted to trim down a lot of the fat with 4e and focus on making all the classes equally fun to play as, but a lot of players felt like the game got dumbed down too much. Pathfinder requires you to look ahead with how you want to build your character, but the rewards for playing smart are a lot bigger than in 4e.
DM made special anti warlock creatures.
Was cool.
You mean the time Paladins had the glorious amount of 2 healing buttons and the time you could literally alt tab and keep pressing the 1 button on the tank and still be a viable healer in a raid?
I recall such times very differently.

Before Cataclysm all heals was simple and fun. Though AoE DPS on the trash did start to get silly…
Pfffft fuck that noise. I love playing heals. Its the only reason my WoW paladin got to 70 in the first place, healing her way from Deadmines to Karazhan. Back when pally healing was simple and fun. :V
We lasted 4 encounters. That’s all you need to know.
I notice a distinct lack of being able to deal with ranged attack from your party….
When you party consists of a paladin, a fighter, a barbarian, an avenger, and a monk, you learn to take what you can get.
Maybe on her early plays. But after a few players like that she turn into a not so good DM with plans to make sure the players never go ‘off the rails’.
@SquiggyBomb
I’m not questioning the Paladins healing abilities. I’m questioning what the heck your Cleric has been doing to make you think he’s not up to the job of healing people anymore. Let alone what the Druid must have done to take 2nd running to a Paladin as a healing class.
The right paladin build can make a kick-ass healer.
But wouldn’t know WHAT to do if players started acting outside of her planned notes
…Why is your designated healer class the paladin?!
