^^ It’s a standalone game. Pay to play. Basic game is free but you have to pay if you want premium or certain tanks/ammo.

Don’t get excited, though. The first 6-7 tiers are fun but then you loose money even if you win with a few kills. Russian tanks are insanely overpowered (and I played them, so it’s no unfair judgement here) and in most matches you have about 4 Type59s who pretty much decide for the rest of the team. Even if you aim at the Weak Points one in 5 shots bounces (same tier).

The only fun thing in high tier battles is artillery. There you can actually help your team. If your team looses you will savagely be insulted, though.

Bluh, I guess that’s what I get for generalizing. That’s mainly been my experience for all the f2p games I’ve tried so I tend to think they all follow that trend.

boring? only someone who is / was terrible at the game would say that.

A few dollars? The premium tanks that you’d ever really want to buy are tier 8, they are quite expensive and they actually perform inferior to most normal tier 8 tanks. And the Type 59 premium cost even more - equivalent to about 30* dollars. It is / was the one tank that really stuck out as being over-powered, but they took action to keep away from lower tiered tanks. I’ve still one-shooted them with my Tiger II on a few occasions.

Playing since russian closed beta i.e. march 2010. Not buying gold at all. Got premium T34 for free in T110 patch. Also 2k battles on patton, constant small credit income, 16kk of credits and nowhere to spend it. Брат жив, зависимость есть.

WoT is a free to play game, f2p games have cash stores which basically make the game pay to win. A few dollars gets you gear which will stomp anyone who isn’t willing to shell out cash to RENT weapons in an online game.
