Water makes sense for Pinkie. It can be either in gas-form, fluid-form or hard form like ice or even jelly-like if she wants to.
If she´s even able to change taste and color she can make her own chocolate rain.
So yeah, water as in lots of forms of water stuff makes alot of sense for the randomness of Pinkie Pie.^^
