Minoriko is the goddess of bountiful harvests. So paring her up with a farmer is almost a given.
Applejack is also the most overlooked of the main characters, and the Aki sisters are often forgotten as you just demonstrated. That’s a connection, isn’t it?
(Why do I put Rarity with Remilia? Is it because of their sisters? That would make sense. Oh well.)
Not exactly the same, but the fandoms have more similarity than they’d care to admit and there’s a lot of fandom overlap (like the yurishipping).
I used to be a hard core brony and am still currently an avid Touhou fan, and this is the best crossover pic I have ever seen in my life.

I’d personally say Touhou based on the sheer output of the fandom, but I’m not a member of it, so I might be mistaken.
