They never “tried” to get into EVO. They got nominated and voted for main stage without even being asked for permission. Like the game wasn’t finished and there was no release date yet but people just got it up there and voted for it. When the devs got wind of it people had already donated hundreds.
 
There also wouldn’t have been prize money - in the end they did the sensible thing and rode with it, confident they would actually finish the game in time BUT they set the condition that their game would only be a side tourney without any money to be won.

Maybe if they hadn’t tried to get it into such a high-profile event like EVO, it might still be around. Certainly the whole “Prize money” bit must’ve seemed like SOMEBODY was going to profit off of it to Hasbro’s lawyers, and they really couldn’t let that slide.

/mlp/ is doing a good job. They pretty much completed Rainbow Dash.

maybe you Japaneses should finish the game, after all you don’t have USA copyright law bullshit and Hasbro would no stop you.
