Something I noticed that I’m not sure if anybody else did, but Spike went into the mirror before Twilight and popped out after.
 
The first time, he jumped in after her and was out before she opened her eyes, already telling her that she had been changed.

I love how much attention the animators paid to detail. I love Twilight’s reflex and I love how Spike wiggles his individual fingers ever so slightly, just after Rainbow Dash asks what hands are no less.

Someone could write a fanfic about this scene if Spike bounced back into the mirror and got stuck there, so Rarity would take him in. Then two and a half years later he’s got to make a decision if he wants to go back…
