I don’t really see how that’s logical at all. Dash is rather blatantly a massive outlier so using her as a yard stick is a bit daft. Furthermore the Sonic Rainboom was regarded as pretty much legendary, so clearly it’s WAY outside the norm.
Really There speed really seems to be entirely act of plot based. That said I’d personally I’d tend to peg most of them as helicopter’ish myself (100-150 miles per hour flat out), the best fliers are high performance prop planes (300-400), the truly exceptional can push the sound barrier briefly, with allot of effort (600-700).
I’m glad I’m not the only person who caught this.

So, uh, you remember when Dash did a Sonic Rainboom? Yeah, it’s a play on “Sonic Boom”, aka breaking the sound barrier. Ponies can fly at mach speeds.
Deal with it.

Dash can apparently go Mach 1, so most pegasi could likely go faster then WWII era planes.
Now against modern fighter jets? No chance.
