The problem is why would boys even check this out, given how removed from what made FIM appeal to them? In fact did FIM appeal to younger boys given how supposedly removed they were from the fandom culture that won over older males? (Note the Guardians of Harmony toyline meant to appeal to them died after it’s single run, which is where future MLP series de-actionized/made less effort to appeal to the wider audience.)
Only thing I can think of is that some out of touch executive thought it would appeal more to boys.
Fart jokes can work, but the joke needs to be more than just farting.
The fire burps also Just make more sense
First episode with any sort of fart joke was episode 25, Puphunt, where it was Cloudpuff; first episode where it was Sparky was episode 31 (I believe), Haunted House.
Oh, for episode 61? So in the animatic (when it was still Scoutward Bound) Sparky burped fire, rather than farting?
Those bad jokes started since Sparky showed up LOL
What exactly was the lead time for TYT episodes? I can’t imagine it would be more than a few months.
Given the audience that would like such gross-out humor is so different than whom TYT seemed to be targeting, why’d it take until season 2 to do away with it?
