The great flaw if this series is the way that it’s “Twixie” first and “genies” second. It really needs to move towards being an exploration of how Twilight’s world changed.
 
Who better to re-center her point-of-view than Spike? Navi “gets it right” here, as Spike is the one character who would both desperately want to see Twi, and who would be the first to go beyond any feeling of hurt and abandonment to be by her side. The question now becomes, what had he been doing in the time she was a genie? Who had been taking care of him?

AJ and RD getting their feelings hurt and stewing about it a little? I wouldn’t say it’s out of character. Both do have some stubborness. They’ll be fine in a few minutes.

I’m surprised Twilight doesn’t just say “Well if YOU were a genie with incredible powers, would YOU want to be left out in the open for some evil pony to grab you!?”
