There should be more artwork like this on the website but I hate how lorn over runs derpibooru but it seems that I have to put up with it.

You know, after all the grimdark turkey-basted into this fanfic, I’ve decided to just hold out and wait till after he wraps it up, and pray from a bittersweet ending at the very least.
 
And no, I’m totally not skipping it because I’m completely terrified of what he’s going to do with that massive twist he pulled out of nowhere in the middle of 62b…totally not! >_>

Yeah, it’s dark, but oddly… I felt nothing when that happened. The story really got to the point where the grimdark factor was so grimdark… that it had no true impact to me. Sure, it’s fucked up, but then again, it’s a story. (Or not, if Bioshock Infinite is any use.)
 
Now, on the subject of Blackjack herself, I think she’s a good character, but I do wish that Somber would ease up on the dark factor towards Blackjack; most of the stuff that happens to her is not necessary or useful. Plus, Blackjack complaining that she couldn’t save everyone and it was her fault that they couldn’t survive is bull. It’s a fucking post-apocalyptic world, ponies die. What did she expect; cake and presents?

Oh trust me, I know. Still, if you can stand (or enjoy) the ridiculous amount of grimdark, there’s really a lot of good in Project Horizons. I can’t in good conscience recommend it, though.

Sorry, I’m being a little vague. Here there be grimdark and spoilers, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
 
Part of the reason that Stable 99 is so F’ed in the A is that for several generations now, the only job a stallion can hold is “breeding equipment.” One such stallion (and my personal bid for Best PH Pony) is P-21. He’s gay. No one cared. Blackjack was his first. Yeah.
 
Then comes chapter 33. Oh Lord, chapter 33. By the beginning of the chapter, Blackjack is blind, crippled in all four legs, riddled with tumors and dying. And then she’s nailed to the floor, has her horn cut off and gang raped. Did I mention the story is told from the first person point of view? I did mention the grimdark, right?

Thought this was Metal Gear Solid or something at first.

In this case, just about every pony outta Stable 99 has their orientation set to “bisexual.” The mares because that’s the only relieve from the monotonous hell that is life in 99. P-21 because, well, it’s complicated. Let’s just say a life as “breeding equipment” isn’t all that fun when your barn door doesn’t swing that way.
