When Giant Ponies and Creatures Attack - Episode 29 - Ember, the Giant Fire-Breathing Dragon
Summary: In Dubai, Ember unleashes her terror against the citizens. Twilight Sparkle and her friends, along with Spike and Smolder, must help protect the people and dodge every fire-breathing attack Ember uses.
“My, my, my! Dubai looks so hot at night! This place is 200 percent beyond cool!” Rainbow Dash flies in the air over and over with excitement, seeing the city becoming a great choice for her friends to visit.
Rainbow Dash and her friends have had a tough battle the previous day in Las Vegas with Spoiled Rich and her husband. Tonight, Rainbow an her friends have set themselves on another journey and they find that everything looks absolutely good, just like what she was expecting.
“Hey, sugarcube, you alright?” Applejack asked Rarity, who still looked depressed over what happened yesterday.
“Yes, darling, I’m okay, feeling good…” Rarity said, letting out a sigh. “It is just that I wasn’t happy meeting Spoiled Rich for the first time in Las Vegas. She was such a pain, and an enemy I hate so much. I’d be shocked if I ever see the look on her face again…”
“Don’t worry, they won’t be coming back!” Pinkie Pie reminds Rarity that Spoiled Rich and Filthy Rich will remain locked up in jail in Las Vegas for the actions they have committed.
Rarity felt relieved that Pinkie Pie gave her the good news and decided to let it go.
“Hey, have you ponies ever heard about the tallest building in the world?” Twilight Sparkle asked her friends, surprising them by pointing her hoof towards the Burj Khalifa, which was far away from where they are.
“Woah! Now that is one huge structure I’ve never seen in my life! Nopony can imagine how tall that building is!” Applejack said with a surprised look on her face.
“It would be an honor visiting the Burj Khalifa one day in the future and see what it is actually like…” Fluttershy told Rarity and Pinkie Pie, who both nod and agree with what she said.
Twilight Sparkle continued her sentence, saying, the Burj Khalifa has been the world’s tallest building for over a decade, standing at a whopping 828 meters and 2717 feet, and has 163 floors, with 2 below ground.”
“That’s a fact!” All of Twilight’s friends said, listening very clear to what she’s been saying that is basically true.
“And yes these are all facts!” Twilight Sparkle replied back with confidence.
Twilight Sparkle and the gang resume walking through the city, taking a look around, seeing people working and chatting among each other all over Dubai.
“Dubai is such a unique, yet beautiful city that has its own rules.” Pinkie Pie finds that Dubai has some rules that everyone must comply.
“Like what? Could you name a few please?” Fluttershy asked Pinkie Pie.
With Fluttershy and everypony else wishing they can learn more from what Pinkie Pie is bringing up, Pinkie Pie gives some rules in Dubai that can help the six ponies, stating, “You must never drink in a public area. You must be dressed appropriately and always be wearing proper clothes for the public! Don’t turn on loud music because that is prohibited!”
“This city has some unusual rules that I don’t be hearing in other countries…” Twilight Sparkle placed her front right hoof behind her head, feeling a bit nervous about why the rules of Dubai are important.
“Um, some countries share a couple rules that are same in Dubai, remember?” Applejack told Twilight Sparkle, who doesn’t remember anything about the rules same elsewhere.
“You might have a point, you might not have a point…” Twilight Sparkle replied back.
While the six ponies are still strolling through the city talking with each other about random stuff, things suddenly changed when they heard screaming and shouting from the citizens, which stopped the Mane Six from strolling any further.
“Not this again…” Rainbow Dash face-hoofs herself on the forehead, annoyed that she already knows what the problem is.
“Girls, look!” Twilight Sparkle told her friends, pointing her hoof at two dragons flying and they are among the fleeing crowd that is running from a giant creature that is under the two evil, corrupted alicorns’ control through a dark spell.
When The Mane Six turned around, they realized it was Spike along with his friend, Smolder.
“Spike, Smolder! I’m so glad you two have made it out alive!” Rarity hugged Spike first and then hugged Smolder, finally meeting the dragons for the first time in a while. “Anyways, why are these people running away?” She asked, wondering why the citizens are fleeing.
Smolder explained her reasoning, saying, “You see, about twenty-five minutes ago, me, Spike and Smolder have been interacting with the people so Ember can try and be friendly with them, but then all of a sudden, Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon attacked us and placed Ember under a dark spell, and then transformed her into a giant rampaging, fire-breathing dragon. Me and Spike fought her, but even with our strength combined together, it wasn’t enough to stop her at all. Now, she’s gonna hurt all the innocent people in this city!”
“And now that Ember is under the evil alicorns’ control, her eyes turned dark red, therefore she has become a villain.” Spike added.
“Great, now we gotta fight an evil giant fire-breathing dragon?!” Rainbow Dash shouted with outrage that the next enemy is a fallen friend, Princess Ember. “This is like how it is in the fairy tales, where heroes must fight a large dragon and save their loved ones.”
“I somehow doubt that this is like…” Pinkie Pie said before her sentence was interrupted when she heard the ground below her hooves shaking.
The ground shook even more louder and just then, The Mane Six, and the two dragons, who both have dragon wings, notice a huge shadow looming over them and as they look back, they saw the evil Ember standing right behind them.
Rarity screamed in horror as she saw the eyes from Ember, which are dark red due to her currently under Daybreaker’s dark spell.
“Finally, more victims I can kill just right now!” Ember laughed evilly, targeting the Mane Six, Spike and Smolder next. “Ooh, wait until you all get a taste of my full power and see what I’m truly made of!”
“Time to fight her, everypony!” Spike and Smolder told the six ponies who stood behind them, as they all began preparing themselves for battle against the giant evil Ember and break her free from the spell Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon placed on her.
Spike and Smolder look at each other with a determined expression and know they share the same goal, and the goal is to defeat Ember and break her from Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon’s dark magic that controls her.
“Smolder, now!” Spike told Smolder, as the two dragons must concentrate and be careful when they fight Ember, knowing that the darkness is making her more stronger.
“I’m on it!” Smolder responded as she followed behind Spike charging at Ember with full power and prepare for a punching with fist.
As the two dragons came closer, Spike and Smolder punched Ember as hard as they could but then they soon realized it didn’t hurt her at all, shocking them and the Mane Six.
“What? That can’t be…!” Spike said, as he was not surprised that his single fist attack had no effect on Princess Ember. “Me and Smolder hit her hard with one blow and nothing worked?! This shouldn’t be possible! What’s going on?!”
“Remember, Spike, she’s huge and large and the darkness is taking controlling her, which means she has unlimited power at this moment.” Smolder reminded Spike that the dark spell that is taking over Ember makes her more powerful every second. “We can only try the best we can and use all the strength we have against her!”
“Okay, got it!” Spike understood what Smolder said and they backed away from Ember.
Spike and Smolder rush at Giant Evil Princess Ember again, this time they kicked and punch at the same time.
“I don’t know why you two pathetic weaklings believe these worthless attacks will have any effect on me, but they don’t even tickle.” Ember smirks at Spike and Smolder, slapping them both away with her hands.
Pinkie Pie was angered over what she’s been watching, deciding she should step in.
“Hey, you big fire-breathing dragon! Time you quit messing with the smaller dragons and not forget us!” Pinkie Pie yelled at Ember, running at her and jumped into the air and attack her with her hooves, kicking her hard with only one hoof.
Nevertheless, Pinkie’s kick still doesn’t work on Dark Princess Ember and the evil giant-sized dragon grabbed Pinkie’s hind hooves with her right hand.
“Stay outta my way, you little ponies!” Ember said, warning them that any other ponies interfering with her destruction will be burned. “Otherwise, if you aren’t gonna listen, I’m just gonna breathe fire on every single one of you!”
“How about you stop hurting these people and leave Dubai?!” Rainbow Dash flies and protect Pinkie Pie from Ember.
Ember smirked at Rainbow Dash evilly before throwing Pinkie Pie right into her, resulting in the two crashing and falling down. Luckily enough, though, Rarity caught the two ponies with her magic.
“I try and be nice towards you mortals, but my patience is getting tested!” Ember raised her voice before breathing fire in anger at the Mane Six, Spike and Smolder.
Twilight Sparkle teleported everyone and herself away the incoming fire in time, avoiding death.
“Phew, that was close… I thought we got burned up like toast for a second…” Fluttershy said with relief that she was not dead and is still alive. “I don’t understand why Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon would control Princess Ember and make her a villain.”
“No time to explain any of that, Fluttershy. We must focus on defeating Ember, and stop her once and for all!” Applejack stood up on all four hooves.
“And things will become even more worse if we don’t do something.” Rarity told the group, suggesting they find a plan and make it good one so they can stop the giant evil dragon from terrorizing Dubai any further.
Even though the ponies are figuring out how they can defeat Princess Ember and break her free from the darkness the two evil alicorns have placed on her, Smolder and Spike already have an idea of their own and fight Princess Ember, saving the Mane Six some time and stay standing and not die before the six ponies reveal what they are planning.
“You two are asking for a death wish, aren’t you?” Ember asked, seeing that Smolder and Spike are not giving up yet. “As you wish, I will make this quick!”
Smolder looks at Spike, telling them while flying in the air, “Watch out for her attacks!”
“Don’t worry, I’m concerned about that.” Spike has already understood how dangerous Princess Ember is when she is evil and under a dark spell that a villain like Daybreaker has placed on her.
Ember started breathing fire, and Spike and Smolder fly away and dodge it before the fire could touch them and destroy them completely.
“Man, Ember’s acting all tough and she’s not even playing around with us.” Smolder told Spike, seeing that the giant evil dragon princess is really serious. “She’s got the fire in her eyes, witnessing everything burning around her in her path of terror…”
“You are correct, I’m not even playing around. I’m gonna crush you both and kill you before I destroy the Mane Six.” Ember told Spike and Smolder, still having plans to eradicate the two dragons before the six ponies can even help them out.
“We’re not letting you destroy us and you’re not destroy this city and turning it into dust, either!” Spike said, refusing to let Princess Ember continue destroying things.
Accepting Spike’s words, Princess Ember decided that the fight between her, Smolder and Spike will happen now. All three dragons flapped their wings, bringing them into the air. The world was counting on both Spike and Smolder, and bring glory back to the city and everyone residing within the city.
“So high up in the air, the people and your pony friends are watching us having a battle in the dark skies where they are hoping neither one of you will die!” Dark Princess Ember told Smolder and Spike, letting them know the fight in the air will get a bit more ugly.
“Alright, if this is the way it will go, then we will accept it!” Spike replied, getting himself fired up for a heated battle with Princess Ember.
“Good, those were the words I needed to hear from you.” Princess Ember said.
The three dragons suddenly clashed as all fists touched one another, sending a shockwave in the air. Spike and Smolder started breathing fire and Princess Ember breathes her fire at the same, colliding with the other two dragons’ fire breath.
Soon, everything exploded in the air, and none of the three dragons were injured, not even Princess Ember was hurt yet.
“Everypony, look up!” Twilight Sparkle told her friends, pointing her hooves at the three dragons fighting right in the sky, with one dragon being a huge one. “It’s Smolder and Spike fighting Dark Princess Ember!”
“Is Spike gonna be okay fighting Ember without us getting involved, darling?” Rarity nervously asked Rainbow Dash, having concerns for Spike’s fight against the giant evil princess dragon, where his fate is put on the line.
Rainbow Dash didn’t look so sure as she kept watching Spike and Smolder fight Ember.
“I don’t care what happens, we gotta step in and help them out so that things can be more easier!” Applejack suggests she and everypony jump into action and help the good dragons.
“She’s right, girls. Friends who are still on the good side need us and if we assist them, there’s a chance that victory will be for us all!” Pinkie Pie said, looking all confident and smart as she feels that everything will just work out good.
“Okay, I’m in!” Rainbow Dash agreed with what Pinkie Pie, as everypony soon agreed, too.
“Time for some power and we will all do this together with rainbows added in it!” All six ponies said at the same time, standing still and began feeling themselves ready and carry out the plan they’ve been having the whole time.
The Mane Six activate their rainbowfied power, giving them a boost and making them more stronger and the magic brought them into the air where the dragons are fighting.
Smolder and Spike and kept on fighting the giant evil dragon, but Ember eventually kicked down Smolder hard, yet she still refused to back down at all.
“I can’t give up… just yet!” Smolder said, breathing hard while still fighting the evil dragon.
“I have already told you and Spike, victory will be mine and you dragons will bow before me, Dark Princess Ember!” Princess Ember told Smolder that no matter how much she tries and fight her, it isn’t gonna last long before she kills her and Spike. “Stop resisting and admit defeat already! This is boring me.”
“Don’t get so carried away, Ember!” Spike argued, defending Smolder from Ember. “You do realize we are not just the only ones dealing with you?” He asked her, wondering if she has forgot something.
“Hmm? What do you mean?” Princess Ember said, not sure what Spike meant. However, when she felt power coming from behind her, she turned around and the Mane Six with rainbowfied powers inside them.
The Mane Six glare at Ember, having enough with her attacking Dubai.
“This ends now! With all six ponies in rainbowfied forms, we will finish you instantly!” Rarity told Dark Princess Ember, as she and her friends will finish everything and stop her.
The Mane Six, while still in their rainbowfied forms, unleashed the power combined together into one huge power and sent it towards Princess Ember, damaging her.
“NOOOOOOOOO!!! I am a princess! I can’t be defeated like this!” Princess Ember screamed before the Mane Six’s combined power defeated her. Spike and Smolder eventually moved out the way.
Ember started falling and Smolder and Spike both catch her in time. The magic carefully brought the six ponies down nicely and they make a soft landing on the ground again. Meanwhile, Spike and Smolder continue carrying Ember, who appears to be unconscious.
“It seems that Ember is freed from the darkness thanks to you all!” Spike was happy that the Mane Six defeat Princess Ember using their rainbowfied power. He hugged each pony at a time, including Rarity, who hugged him back.
“No problem, Spike! We did everything we could and put in all the effort we’ve had in us so that the humans and you and Smolder didn’t die.” Applejack responded back with happiness and she felt honored that Spike and Smolder appreciated her and the others for assisting them in battle.
“I’m glad she isn’t a villain anymore.” Smolder was happy that Ember is back on the good side once again.
However, Twilight Sparkle reminded Smolder and Spike, saying, “Princess Ember is still knocked out cold because of the power we used on her. She won’t be able to wake up fully until the next few days.”
“We still gotta continue the mission and keep an eye for anyone that might end up under one of those dark spells Daybreaker will place on them. Either someone from the good side or someone who’s a villain, they’ll gain more power.” Rainbow Dash told the group, seeing that the journey is nowhere near over. Not until Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon are captured.
“She’s right. We can’t let this keep going like this.” Applejack added with what Rainbow Dash has just told the group. “Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon must get captured and we will find them one way or another!”
Thought it is hard to say goodbye to each other, Rarity and Spike hugged each other one more time as Spike was having tears of joy.
“Spike, take care of Ember while me and my friends set off another journey!” Rarity told Spike, saying her last words towards him before she and friends resume the mission and save the remaining friends and allies who might turn evil, unless it is a villain and they’ll end up working for the two evil corrupted alicorns.
“Don’t worry, me and Smolder will get Ember somewhere safe and check in on her, making sure she wakes up soon.” Spike keeps his promise that he will watch Ember for a while until she fully wakes up in the next two or three days.
“Take care.” Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie said before they resume walking, waving goodbye at Smolder and Spike.
While Spike and Smolder stay in Dubai and take Princess Ember somewhere to a hospital, Twilight Sparkle and her friends resume the usual task that they have been given from the beginning and keep an eye for more danger across the world.

- This is the third time where the antagonist in When Giant Ponies and Creatures Attack is not a pony, and the first where it is a dragon and not a kirin.
- This was originally set as the twenty-seventh episode. However, this was changed as the twenty-ninth episode through an update on one of my other journals, meaning this episode is scheduled for a June release instead of its original May release.
- This is also the first episode since Beware of Autumn Blaze that has been pushed back for a later date, as well as the first episode that has been rescheduled for a later month (having been originally set for release in May 2024, then changed for a June 2024 release).
- Ember’s eyes in this image are darker to avoid confusion with her Friendship is Magic TV counterpart.
